The Japa Challenge: Charlatans Should Keep Quiet

Thanks, Israel for asking me to comment on the trending video where a pastor in a three piece suit is suggesting that Africans migrating to Europe and North America are violating biblical principles. You are a Pastor in RCCG and should know that the speaker in that video doesn’t have a good knowledge of the Bible. He’s a charlatan like several others in Africa fighting for their stomachs. Didn’t you observe that everything on him is Western. A pan African communicator will wear an African dress to make a case for Africa. That’s not the case here. Both the technology, and the language he has used to reach you are Western. Investigate him thoroughly and you will discover that he travels to the West regularly or he is working hard to be able to do that.

I have repeatedly encouraged members of our community (Global Citizens) to invest in reading the book that will help them to escape from digital deduction and dementia. It’s titled “The Psychology of Rumour”. There are so many “experts” on the internet who haven’t been to school probably because they think education is a scam but are producing content they are using to earn money through viewership.

As a consequence of poor education, Africans have been sold the lie that the word pastor spells anointing, versatility and competence. When Sam Adeyemi was much younger and probably lacking scientific knowledge, he made his congregation believe that ordinary people were Nigeria’s problem. Now he has earned a PhD from an American university and discovered in the process of his studies that change in political leadership is indispensable for Nigeria’s progress. He has relocated to America with his entire family. Pastor Kumuyi directly and indirectly resisted internet when he was younger and lived among the poor in Ayobo, Lagos. He now lives in a mansion in Ikeja GRA, and uses the internet aggressively for the promotion of Deeper Life’s programmes. His two children live abroad. All notable Christian leaders in Nigeria have treaded similar paths.

The pastor of my local assembly in RCCG discouraged me from going for further studies abroad although he was training all his children and wife abroad obviously because he wanted me to help him earn promotions in the Church through growing our parish and planting new parishes. In 2012, after my studies in England, I ministered at the Church’s December Congress in only 30 minutes and empowered several thousands many of whom are now pastors in the Church and very productive members of society. I do not have to remind you of the millions of people across the world who are directly and indirectly benefitting from my work. You refer people to me regularly for professional counsel and have confessed that the few months you studied under my tutelage overwhelmed your several years of sojourn in the university. You are not alone. All of that and this community have been made possible by my uncommon skills which I acquired in the course of my graduate training abroad.

One of my children participated in an essay competition in the “International secondary school” he was attending in Nigeria and earned the top position out of about 400 students. He was fraudulently denied even the third position. The school wrote to apologize after I confronted them. Watch him in the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x8rKYNs1iQ and see how America embraced and empowered him within a short period. He blogs for his university and gets paid for it. He is currently doing internship at the Africa Centre in the USA, and engaged in projects that are pursuing Africa’s true liberation. I facilitated the travel of several teenagers to the USA this year for undergraduate programmes and many to the UK for postgraduate studies who are already helping humanity in line with their gifts. The young people who listened to my son when he came home recently for a one week holiday are being prepared for undergraduate studies in the USA beginning from August of next year. To enjoy the video, use a head set or ear piece or laptop to watch the presentation . They will all complete their applications before the end of this month.

The document that follows the video was compiled by some of the young people currently benefitting from our career service. You will see from it that the fertility rate in Nigeria is outrageous and life expectancy as well as per capita income relatively very low. Google per capita income, fertility rate, and life expectancy for Norway, USA, UK, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Japan, Denmark, Ghana, Morocco, and Nigeria to discover why we should take our development needs seriously. Avoidable deaths are occurring in Nigeria despite all the prayers. Faith without works is dead.

Stop listening to charlatans. Abraham moved. Jacob’s family moved to escape starvation. Joseph wouldn’t have become a Prime Minister if he didn’t miraculously “escape” his envious brothers. Jesus left Nazareth where people associated Him with only carpentry and moved to where multitudes recognized him as a Messiah. One of the two owners of Google is a Jew. The owner of this medium (WhatsApp) is a Jew. They are thriving in America and not in Israel and among the Jews who constitute only 3% of America’s population but in control of about 20% of the country’s economy. You don’t have to like them to respect them.

Tinubu studied in the USA. Atiku frequents abroad and trained his children there just like our frontline pastors and other politicians. Peter Obi is a product of several business schools in the USA and Europe. He picked up the ideas he is sharing with Nigerians abroad. He got the inspiration to go into politics at Kellogg Business School in the USA. Kumuyi got the ideas he used to achieve exponential growth of Deeper Life Church in the USA and from a business man, not a theologian. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala got several billions of dollars of Nigeria’s debt written off. Adewumi Adesina runs Africa Development Bank. Both of them earned their PhDs abroad.

The only African past head of state who earned Moo Ibrahim’s Award in recent years studied abroad. Morocco is close to Europe. They are doing better economically than sub Saharan African countries. Saudi Arabian government actively sends their Citizens including women to the West for further studies. Five of the people I shared office with in England as a PhD student were ladies who were sponsored for their programme by the Saudi Arabian government. Many of the people running China benefitted from Western education. Most of the IT professionals contributing to the development of India are products of American and British universities. Study the relationship between brain drain and brain gain to understand why that is possible.

The choice is yours to make: continue to listen to charlatans and remain where you are or invest in understanding how the world works so you can gain momentum and use your gifts to the advantage of humanity. You don’t have to japa (migrate to Europe or North America) to be great but don’t look down on people who decide to explore alternative routes to what they desire. Speak with me on +2349069603692 if you need further help on this.
